We are excited to announce that GCVA Beach- Sandy Spikers will continue on into the Summer! Our Summer session will be very similar to our Spring session- we will offer two practices a week. For the summer they will be Tuesdays and Sundays, both from 5:30 – 7. Practices will be at the Chester Davis Sportsplex in League City. The address to the facility is 1251 TX-96 League City, TX 77573.
The start date for the Summer session of Sandy Spikers will be May 14th! The session will continue on until the week of July 8th. Here are a couple notes about practices within this range:
- We would NOT have practice June 16th due to Father’s Day.
- The last week of practice, we would not have our practice that Tuesday, but rather that Thursday (the 11th), which is our end of the season party!
- Communication will be given about any practices canceled due to weather.
We will again have 2 practice options: The full practice plan will make players eligible for all 16 practice within this session and will be $300, which comes out to less than $20 a practice. The partial practice plan would make players eligible for any 8 practices in the session. The partial session plan would be $175. The full practice plan would come with 2 practice shirts and a visor. The partial practice plan would come with 1 practice shirt and a visor.
Remember that Sandy Spikers is designed to give young athletes an introduction into the sand game. We will lower the nets and shorten the courts, but we will play with partners as to not change the parameters of the game. This session we are targeting the 5 – 9 age range! For older players, we offer our GCVA Beach summer session, so please reach out if you have questions about that!
Players sign up individually, but during registration you can request a partner to be paired with for practices! Please make sure both players are requesting each other.
A couple things to note when you register:
- Your player will need a USAV number to register. This is for insurance purposes on the club’s behalf. If your player is playing indoor little spikers or club volleyball, the USAV number is the same for outdoor.
