COVID-19 Updates
July 3, 2020
Club Team Deposits: In the past deposits were never refunded but we will make one exception. The 2020/2021 season will start the week of Nov 9. If for any reason (like COV-19) we are unable to start the season then everything will be refunded except the tryout fee. Now if we start and you then decide you do not want to play then the deposit will be not be refunded.
Club Team Fees: The 2020/2021 Fee Schedule has changed. This year we are not going to do the 8 payment system. Payments will start and continue for the six (6) months during the current season. This way everyone will not pay in advance, if we have to cancel the season for any reason, like COV-19 then payments will stop at that point. Tournaments/Club fees: Each team does have a tournament budget. The more competitive the tournament schedule the higher the budget which related in the higher fees for the older/more competitive teams. For the travel teams if the team cannot travel due to cov-19 or the larger/more expensive tournaments such as National Qualifiers do not take place then we will look at at issuing a credit/refund if travel your team cannot travel. We may also adjust/reduce the monthly fees due to any travel restrictions.
Uniform/Gear: We will not be ordering any practice gear/uniforms until the season starts in case we have to return Deposits. On the first day of practice we will put in the practice gear/uniform order. Uniform Try On will be in the Sept/Oct timeframe and we will have GCVA player/parent gear for sale.

April 25, 2020
Hello all, I hope everyone is staying safe and doing well during these unprecedented times. Here is the latest news. USAV/LSR keeps pushing the dates back from when sanctioned events can start. It is now the 2nd week in May. They keep pushing back the Regional Championships and even Nationals. We/GCVA do not feel that is it wise even if USAV sanctions events to be back in the gym and especially a convention center right now. We also have issues with gym time since schools are not allowing anyone in the gyms, some cites are not allowing team practices etc. So we are going to END the Indoor Club Season and start again come November. So please read below.
Indoor Club For any missed tournament or practice during the regular club season schedule, each player will receive a FAMILY CREDIT in their OASYS/GCVA account to be used for any future GCVA activity. This can be used by that player or anyone under the primary account holder account. The credit will be different for each team since each team was in different stages of season completion. I.E. 18u had 3 weeks, 2 or 3 tournaments etc... I will e-mail each team and let them know what the credit is for each team.
Please note this is a CREDIT not a refund. Since most of the money was already spent on tournament entry fees, gym rentals etc. We have to issue a credit which you can use for next year club, summer camps, beach team etc. For 18's, if you are a senior and do not participate in Beach Team/Junior Leagues/Tournaments we will issue a refund when we settle up with everyone who owes us money/credit from the canceled tournaments/gym time.
The Credits should be in your OASYS account by the end of Day Monday. If you have any questions please let me know.
OTHER NOTES: - We got calls from League City and Galveston this week concerning their facilities.
- The City of League City has announced that no Team Practices will be held until after May 28 So this effects the Beach Team and Junior Beach League.
- The City of Galveston has announced that no events will take place on the beaches until After May. This effects our GCVA/USAV Beach Tournaments

Hello all, I hope everyone is staying safe and doing well during these unprecedented times. As a result of the recent order by the governor extending the stay at home order to May 4. All GCVA activities will be postponed through May 4.
Please note that for Indoor Club we will not hold any Club team practices after the end of May or participate in any Indoor Club Team tournaments after the first week of June. So if anything gets postponed past June 6 ot 7 (Indoor tournament wise) we are out. That way the kids can enjoy their summer, play in the outdoor leagues, go to indoor camps etc. For any missed tournament or practice during the regular club season schedule, that we cannot make up during May, each player will receive a FAMILY CREDIT in their OASYS/GCVA account to be used for any future GCVA activity by that player or anyone under the primary account holder account. The credit will be different for each team since each team was in different stages of season completion. I.E. 18u had 3 weeks, 2 or 3 tournaments etc...

GCVA - COVID-19 Updates
Below is a comprehensive overview of the steps GCVA is taking during this difficult time to hopefully keep players, their families, our staff and general public as safe as possible.
As of March 19, "You can find that statement and more information, including the status of upcoming national qualifiers, on the USAV COVID-19 webpage.
The above sentiment was further echoed by the Lone Star Region that issued a similar decree shortly thereafter:
"We now have no choice but to cancel all sanctioned events, including practices, between now and April 15, 2020."
Based on the above, GCVA will postpone all volleyball practices until after April 15; therefore, if possible, GCVA practices will not resume until Monday, April 20th. We will work with all tournament directors, the Lone Star Region, Clear Creek Independent School District (CCISD) and Clear Lake City Recreation Center (CLRC) to update our schedules accordingly.
In regards to any missed practices and tournaments, if these events are not made up, a credit WILL be issued for those GCVA members' accounts that are in good financial standing with the club. Please note that any credit issued will be calculated and applied based on the team, the number of tournaments/practices missed, the event and the amount refunded by the facility and/or the tournament organizer. If and when the credit is issued, it will appear as a "Family Credit" inside your Oasys account. This credit can be used for any GCVA program such as Beach Team, Summer Camps and future Club payments, etc.
*Please note that the Oasys and Bracketpal systems are different, therefore, your Oasys credit cannot be used for Bracketpal programs such as Sunday Junior 2s Sand League and GCVA Beach tournaments.
The above cancellations have not impacted the GCVA outdoor programs or the GCVA summer indoor camps. At this time, all outdoor leagues, beach tournaments and GCVA Summer Beach Team practices will still be held as planned:
-
GCVA CLUB - Practice schedule to resume Monday April 20th
-
GCVA Adult League - Starts Monday, April 27th (Updated 3/26/2020)
-
GCVA Summer Beach Team 2020 - Starts, Thursday May 7th
-
GCVA Sunday Junior 2s Sand League - Starts Sunday, May 17th
-
GCVA Summer Camps - Start Monday, June 8th
Further updates will be posted on the GCVA website and sent out via email.
I hope all of you and your families have a SAFE couple of weeks off from volleyball
